Q: What do you do, and how did you get started in your field?
A: I'm a software engineer who gets to work on an international web app. I started in elementary school, tinkering with HTML and PHP.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a software engineer?
A: I get to create and be a visual problem-solver.

Q: What technologies or tools are you currently using or learning?
A: Right now I'm loving working with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

Q: What projects are you most proud of?
A: My work! I love what I do and where I get to do it.

Q: How would you describe your development style or workflow?
A: Half vibe-coding, half trying to use my noggin to figure stuff out. Also a lot of googling.

Q: What’s one thing you wish more people understood about your work?
A: Just because I work in tech doesn't mean I know everything about it. I still have a lot to learn, and I love learning.

Q: What’s your current focus or goal as a developer?
A: To be rid of the imposter syndrome!

Q: What motivates you to keep learning and growing?
A: You're never too old to learn, and you're never too late to start.

Q: How do you approach challenges or burnout?
A: Unplug. I have a pretty terrible social media habit, so I try to stay off of my phone when I need a break.

Q: What’s a quote or mantra you live by?
A: You live, then you die. Try to make the most of the first half.

Q: What’s a mistake that taught you a valuable lesson?
A: Most people are not your friends.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of coding?
A: Cooking, writing, and attempting to draw, or paint, or anything involving color.

Q: How do you spend your weekends or unwind after a long day?
A: I try to focus on my revolving door of hobbies.

Q: What creative hobbies have surprised you the most?
A: Cooking and baking. I wasn't allowed to cook as a kid so I never thought about how good at it I could be.

Q: What's your current obsession or passion project?
A: 1) finishing this blog and 2) starting my cannabis cooking documentation journey.

Q: What skill are you trying to learn just for fun?
A: Letting myself enjoy things without worrying about being good at them.

Q: Why did you start this blog?
A: I've kept a blog in one form or another since 2004 and I wanted a permanent space to call my online home.

Q: What can readers expect from your posts?
A: Random musings, thoughts, and ideas. I want to write about my life and my hobbies.

Q: Who is your blog for, and what do you hope they get out of it?
A: Everyone! My brain is a cereal bowl of random thoughts and I have too many interests to keep to myself.

Q: What topics are you most excited to write about?
A: Tech and cooking.

Q: What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you?
A: I was born in the Philippines and grew up in the deep south from the age of 5. No accent, though.

Q: What’s your comfort food or favorite thing to cook/bake?
A: Egg drop soup and cake.

Q: If you had a free day with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?
A: Mostly sleep, but also movie marathon.

Q: What fictional universe would you live in if you could?
A: The Picture of Dorian Gray. It's one of my favorite books of all time.

Q: Dogs, cats, or something else?
A: Definitely cats.
